Just Because: Amanda

"I'm just not comfortable in front of the camera." This is what she tells me as we drive to our destination in downtown San Clemente. One thing I love about being able to shoot my friends is that we can always have a great time and they're more relaxed in front of the camera. I reassure her that it will be fiiine, and besides it's just for fun. And fun it was.

Amanda is like my mentor, best friend, and sister I never had. Anytime we get together we know there's two things for sure: Starbucks and laughing. So yesterday as we strolled along Del Mar we laughed and drank our iced tea from Starbucks. She is also picking up photography and so I gave her some pointers as she practiced away. Thank you for feeling comfortable enough to let me photograph you yesterday Amanda, it allowed for some great photos.

That's What Girlfriends Do

I love my girlfriends. Each one of them is completely unique with their own set of quirks. So it wouldn't be weird at all if we decided to find a field and have a picnic in it. I mean even if you could see us from the freeway, what does it matter? All I know is that I had a blast!

We spent the day eating enough food to feed a few families. And taking pictures. Of course we had to take pictures. Large random fields and tall wild mustard are some of the many reasons I love San Juan. And it all made for great pictures. And picnics. And lots of laughs, cause that's what girlfriends do.

Engagement: Crystal and Jake

I was so excited when Crystal called me and asked to take her engagement photos. And even more excited when she said she wanted to go to Downtown San Juan to take them. With a gorgeous couple and fun location, you can't go wrong.

It was truly precious to watch Jake and Crystal interact with each other. Crystal lit up anytime Jake looked at her. And Jake always made sure she was comfortable, and had both of us laughing at his jokes.

Crystal and Jake I am so happy for you two and can't thank you enough for letting me document this time in your lives.
